I have been out of school for quite some time and am a bit worried about attending as a mature student.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about as we have students of all ages, ranging from early 20’s to late 60’s, and welcome the diversity, experience and knowledge that all bring to our courses.  All our classes foster a warm, fun and inviting learning atmosphere.

Is there a practicum for this program?

Yes, all students will be placed in a practicum in an appropriate medical office setting near the end of their studies.

Do I have to find my own practicum host-site?

No, the college will place all students at an appropriate site.  When possible, the college will try to find a site close to a student’s home or area of preference but this will not always be possible.  It is expected that students get themselves to their practicum site regardless of whether or not it is their first choice.

Is this a new program at RMC?

Yes and no.  Ridge Meadows College offered a Medical Reception program in the past but has not done so in recent years.  This program has been completely overhauled and updated to prepare students for current needs and expectations of the profession.

What are the payment terms?

Tuition for individual courses are due on the first day of the semester, or if a student registers for a course after the first day of the semester, then fees are due at the time of registration for the course(s).

Can I use my RESPs to pay for my studies at Ridge Meadows College?

Yes, although in some cases it may depend upon your banks specific RESP rules.  We have many students using RESPs to pay for their studies but we encourage you to confirm with your financial institution before beginning your studies.

Ridge Meadows College is committed to affordable tuition and accessible financing options to make post-secondary education more available to students in the community.  As a result,R MC offers payment plans for students who wish to spread their payments out throughout the term.
