Core Construction

RMC’s Core Construction is a 212 hour comprehensive program taught over one semester that covers the basics of construction, including framing, electrical, carpentry and more.

Core Construction courses include the following third-party certifications:

  • First Aid (Level 1)
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Spaces
  • Forklift
  • Skid Steer

The college has years of experience offering this program to contract training vendors and for the first time, is tentatively scheduled to launch for members of the general public in January, 2023.

RMC is engaging regional industry leaders to ensure the program meets their hiring needs and is working to build relationships that will lead directly into hiring opportunities for program graduates.

Academic Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent) or 19 years of age or older.

English Language Requirement:

  • Completion of English 12, or equivalent, or a satisfactory demonstration of written and verbal English ability as determined by the College.

Program Fees

Program fees for the 2022-23 academic year.

  • Application Fee: $30
  • Deposit upon acceptance to the program: TBA
  • Course Fees (including deposits): TBA
  • Material and Supply Fees: TBA
  • Book and Technology Fees: TBA

Students will be expected to bring their own of the following:

  • Steel-toed shoes/boots
  • Carpentry belt
  • Work gloves

Course Instalment Plans (CIPs) to pay program fees monthly, are available for students meeting certain conditions.
