JOB POSTING: CHILD CARE COORDINATOR
BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE
JOB SUMMARY:
The Childcare Coordinator at Leigh School Daycare is responsible for supervising the children in our before and after school program and working the day-to-day operations of the daycare.
Reporting to the Director & Manager, the Childcare Coordinator is an experienced, self-motivated professional who has a passion for working with children. The Coordinator is responsible for working effectively with staff, children and their families. The Coordinator must demonstrate effective leadership skills in keeping with the daycare’s policies/ procedures. A positive, energetic attitude, creative problem solving abilities, sound judgment and love of children are all a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
● Assists the children in developing positive self-concepts and healthy problem-solving skills
● Ensures the physical and emotional environments are safe and positive places for children
● Keeps current with children’s unique needs particularly concerning allergies, medical, custodial agreements, etc.
● Ensures the daycare/gym is maintained in a clean and orderly fashion, setting up and putting away toys
● Assists with daily snack preparation and clean up
● Communicates with parents as needed during pick up/drop off
● Completes the sign in/sign out sheet daily
● Documents any incident that requires First Aid including cuts, bumps, ice packs etc.
● Documents any incident where a child continually misbehaves
● Contributes to monthly programming including arts & craft programs, sports etc.
● Flexibility and other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
● ECE, ECEA or Responsible Adult Course (RA is a 20 hour online course)
● Valid First Aid with Child CPR (can be taken once hired)
● Criminal Record Check Clearance
● Experience working with children
HOURS OF WORK/RENUMERATION:
● September 5, 2023 – June 27, 2024
● Part- Time Position Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm
● 2.5 hours per day (subject to change as needed)
● Opportunity to work during PRO D DAYS, Winter Break & Summer Break
● Paid stat holidays and summers off, opportunity for benefits
● $18 – $20 per hour depending on experience.
