We are a family of three and looking for a live-out nanny who would like to help to take care of an amazing almost 3 years old, who has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My son is very sweet, smart, calm, funny and very much like any toddler his age. He does not have any behavioural concerns, he is slightly behind in all aspects of social skills, fine and gross motor skills. His language is also delayed but is coming along very nicely. He enjoys playing with toys, especially vehicles, balls, running around but most importantly: having fun.
My son attends ASD Wonder Centre every day where he spends time with his intervention Team, consisting of Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Behaviour Consultant, and Behaviour Interventionists, actively working on his developmental goals. To us it is very important that everyone involved in his care is consistent and on top of his current goals and strategies used at the centre and incorporates them into our every-day life. We would expect the same from our nanny.
In our household we don’t speak English, we speak Hungarian, so we need someone charismatic with native English skills to make him more comfortable with English before he attends daycare full time.
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and attentive person who can be part of our family!
Hours: 3-6 pm + occasional babysitting
Days: Ideally Mon-Fri but at least 3 times a week
Start date: July 12th, 2022
We are slightly flexible in the starting date and the hours as well.
Period: Long term, min. 3 months
Duties: Daily Living Skills (ie. diaper changes, offering snacks, picking up toys) and entertainment 🙂
Location: Maple Ridge – Silver Valley
Transportation: Preferred – along with own vehicle and clean driving records (car seat will be provided)
Salary: Negotiable – dependent on experience and education
As parents, we work from home, remotely – mostly separated in a different space, but still accessible if needed.
Please note we are a bunny-friendly home.
Safety first when it comes to Covid, so we try to do all the precautions we can, also respecting other parties’ preferences. Although there is no expectation of household duties, our home is our safe place: keeping it clean is a top priority so our child can play safely and we all can be in a healthy environment.
