This 16.5 credit program on Entrepreneurship equips students with essential skills and knowledge needed to navigate the creation and financing of new ventures. This program explores key concepts such as opportunity identification, business planning, financing, marketing strategies, and sustainable growth. Whether aspiring to launch a startup, drive innovation within an organization, or support community-based initiatives, this certificate provides a practical and foundational toolkit to succeed in a competitive marketplace.

Graduates of the ENT program will be able to:

  • Identify opportunities by evaluating market trends and customer needs
  • Develop and create comprehensive business plans that include financial projections, marketing strategies and operational frameworks
  • Understand financing sources and methods to obtain financing for new ventures.
  • Cultivate a mindset that embraces creativity, adaptability, appropriate risk taking and resilience in navigating common challenges to new ventures
  • Apply core entrepreneurial skills such as problem solving, decision making and risk management in real-world scenarios.
  • Effectively communicate a vision with other stakeholders and the general public.

Online Delivery: All courses in this program are taught online using synchronous delivery (meaning instructors are available and conduct lectures at specific times over Zoom / MS Teams).  Students considering an online program at RMC, should own or be able to obtain a relatively modern laptop or desktop computer – a smartphone is generally not sufficient for classes.  Students are expected to have their camera turned on during class sessions so they can actively participate in delivery of the course.  RMC’s online courses focus around live lectures by an experienced instructor and supplementary exercises that can be done at the student’s convenience such as class discussion forums, group assignments, supplementary videos / reading materials, and others.

This program can be combined with the Bookkeeping Professional program to obtain two certificates.

Academic Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent) or 19 years of age or older.

English Language Requirement:

  • Completion of English 12, or equivalent, or a satisfactory demonstration of written and verbal English ability as determined by the College (View the college’s complete English Language Requirements)

Program Fees

Program Fees for 2025-26 are as follows:

  • Application Fee: $30 (domestic); $100 (international)
  • Tuition: $3,465
  • Technology & Library fee: $50 per semester, when enrolled in studies.
  • Textbook’s extra and purchased by students.

Payment plans are available for students meeting certain conditions.  This program is not applicable for student loans.

The BC Employer Training Grant is a provincial grant available to employers who want to fund an employee’s education and covers 80% of training costs.

Is this program online or in-person?

All Entrepreneurship courses can be taken online from anywhere in BC.

I have been out of school for quite some time and am a bit worried about attending as a mature student.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about as we have students of all ages, ranging from early 20’s to late 60’s, and welcome the diversity, experience and knowledge that all bring to our courses.  All our classes foster a warm, fun and inviting learning atmosphere.

Who is this program designed for?

This program is focused on skills that will help new entrepreneurs open up or expand small businesses and/or run an existing small business efficiently.

Does The ENT Certificate Expire?

No, the Entrepreneurship Certificate does not expire.

What are the payment terms?

Tuition for individual courses are due on the first day of the semester, or if a student registers for a course after the first day of the semester, then fees are due at the time of registration for the course(s).

Can I use my RESPs to pay for my studies at Ridge Meadows College?

Yes, although in some cases it may depend upon your banks specific RESP rules.  We have many students using RESPs to pay for their studies but we encourage you to confirm with your financial institution before beginning your studies.

Ridge Meadows College is committed to affordable tuition and accessible financing options to make post-secondary education more available to students in the community.  As a result,R MC offers payment plans for students who wish to spread their payments out throughout the term.

Students can apply for payment plans via the MyRMC Student system upon being admitted to the college and enrolling in courses.  Payment plans work by dividing total fees for the term into equal payments to be paid at the beginning of each month the student is enrolled in classes.

Bookkeeping Professional – RMC’s Bookkeeping Professional program is designed to enhance your existing office skills with Bookkeeping skills, including budgeting, cost management, payroll administration and industry leading software like Quickbooks and Sage.

Digital Marketing – By combining creativity with analytical skills, RMC’s DM program teaches students to drive brand engagement, generate leads, and optimize online performance.

Executive Administrator – The EXEC program prepares participants will gain an understanding of business fundamentals such as: Communications, Organizational Behaviour, Leadership and Supervision, Human Resource Management, Marketing and advance relevant software skills.
