Does The BSW Certificate Expire?
No, this certificate does not expire.

Why Are Some BSW Certificates Recognized And Others Not?
Our program is a 60 hour comprehensive program, including WHMIS training, that is well recognized by both public and private employers.  Upon successful program completion, many of our students are hired by school districts, city halls and private companies.  We also have students, working for various city halls, that take our program to be certified BSW’s.

The program includes 80% “hands on” practice in a school.  How does this help me to be a BSW in an environment other than a school?
Core BSW cleaning techniques and foundations taught, including using common machines and equipment, are basic and required skills that are applied everywhere regardless of where the “hands on” experience is conducted.  The most important thing for a student to learn is the basics, acquire the skills and knowledge to be a successful BSW.

Why should I choose your program over another educational institute?
Our 60 hour comprehensive program is different from any other as 20% is theory and 80% is “hands on.”  The hands on portion provides students with the opportunity to put into practice what is taught while acquiring real life experience, fine tuning key skills and knowledge that is important to succeed as a BSW.  This is inclusive of learning how to safely use and maintain various cleaning machines and equipment as well as learning how to strip and wax a floor.  Upon program completion, our students are very confident and look forward to working as a BSW.

What growth opportunities are there for a BSW?
There’s a great need for BSW’s and for many, getting their certificate and gaining experience in the field, is a stepping stone to further grow their career in commercial cleaning.  Many BSW’s advance their careers and become supervisors, purchasing agents, inventory control managers or custodial/building managers while others open their own cleaning business.

I’ve lost my job/looking for a new career.  Is this a good opportunity to consider?
Absolutely!  As cities continue to grow and expand and new infrastructures are implemented, there is a growing need for BSW’s.  This is a great opportunity to transfer existing skills, start a new and rewarding career and depending on personal goals, further advance in this industry.

Upon completion of this course, what certificates do I get?
Students who successfully complete this course, receive a BSW and WHMIS certificate.
