ECEBC Program Assistant (to support the Education Support Fund and Specialized Certification Grant programs)

ECEBC is committed to advancing the profession of Early Childhood Education. Funded by the Province of BC, the Education Support Fund (bursary) and the new Specialized Certificate Grant are administered by ECEBC.

Position Summary:

To support the coordination and implementation of the grant and bursary programs, the assistant will work within the ECEBC team to perform, application adjudication duties and program needs.

Qualifications:

Other: ECE or Equivalent (asset)

Additional Qualifications:

Qualification and Skills:

  1. ECE or Equivalent (Asset)
  2. Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the early years (Asset)
  3. Asset: General knowledge of eCEBC and the ESF/Specialized Grant programs
  4. Proficient in computer skills (excel, software, zoom, etc.)

Skills and Abilities

  1. High level of coordination skills
  2. Experience performing administrative duties
  3. Ability to multitask and to work well with minimum supervision and under pressure
  4. Attention to detail
  5. Strong work ethic
  6. Good verbal and written communciation skills
  7. Ability to balance high-volume work

Salary & Benefits:

Contract: $46,410 annualized salary

Benefits: RRSP, Health Benefits, and a work-from-home subsidy to commence after the probation period.

Additional Information:

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the adjudication and review of the Early Childhood Education Support Fund (Bursary) Program application and documents in the online portal
  • A point of contact for early childhood education students, educational institution staff, and others who are seeking information and assistance on the program
  • Ensure established criteria and policy is adhered to in the process of distributing bursary and grant allocations
  • ESF/Bursary Policy review and discussions when applicable

Specialisation Grant:

  • application review and data entry
  • auditing applications as per policy and process
  • policy development/discussion when applicable
  • Applicant communications when applicable
  • general team duties as required
  • Participate in weekly team meetings
