Education Assistants work with K-12 students with special physical, behavioural or learning needs. Ridge Meadows College’s Education Assistant Program will prepare you for supporting students in mainstream learning assistance, resource room, English literacy, and alternate settings. There will be two weeks of directed observation during school hours, as well as a four week practicum .

Why Ridge Meadows College?
How it WorksThe EA program may only be taken full-time as part of a cohort. Classes are face-to-face and generally during weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Term starts are in September and January. RMC’s instructors are seasoned industry leaders with an emphasis on practical experience in the field. Many of them work as a teacher in the district. Course sizes are generally limited to a max of 24 people, so students get plenty of face-time with instructors |

The RMC AdvantageRMC is publicly operated by School District 42 (Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows), one of the largest employers in Maple Ridge. Its programs are designed to meet local market needs and to be of the upmost quality. Because RMC operates much like a non-profit, tuition fees are usually significantly cheaper than other private institutions and the quality of education on par with public colleges. All graduating students from the EA programs are considered for an interview with SD42. |
